Travel & Accommodations

Due to budget limitations, The New Music Conflagration, Inc. cannot provide travel stipends to composers or performers for FITPF. Selected composers, performers, and lecturers will receive free tuition to the festival but are responsible for their travel and accommodations to the festival.


The closest major airports are:
TPA – Tampa International Airport
PIE – St. Petersburg/Clearwater International Airport


Car Rental
St. Petersburg, Florida, USA is not a walkable city and festival participants will need to rent a car to get around town. If there is enough interest, The New Music Conflagration, Inc. will assist in pairing composers, performers, and lecturers who may be interested in sharing cars or hotel rooms. Tampa International Airport (TPA) has onsite car rental services. You may also take a taxi into St. Petersburg and purchase a PSTA bus pass for your stay, however bus service in the area is sometimes unreliable. We strongly encourage you to rent a car.

Because St. Petersburg is a drivable city with festival participants may stay in either downtown or on the beach as both locations are equidistant from performance and lecture locations. We have included hotels at a variety of price points and our festival schedule will allow for participants to explore our vibrant city.

St. Petersburg, Florida, USA offers a wide-variety of world-class restaurants and breweries. We strongly encourage festival participants to patronize the local businesses who support The New Music Conflagration, Inc. through sponsorships and other assistance. Upon arrival, each festival participant will receive a packet, including maps and a comprehensive list of local restaurants and breweries to help navigate the delicious community stops.
