Announcing Our Second Concert Season

The New Music Conflagration, Inc. enters it’s second season of performances promoting contemporary concert music to the public in non-traditional locations; featured works from last season were submitted by composers from across the globe in addition to Florida composers: Nathan Corder, Jim Ivy, Elizabeth A. Baker, Tom Kersey, and Dr. Vernon Taranto. This year’s concert programming promises to both challenging and exciting for listeners of all ages as well as musical experiences.

Open to the public are free admission Sunday afternoon concerts, which start at 3:00pm and are held exclusively at The St. Petersburg Main Branch Library (3745 9th Avenue North, Saint Petersburg, FL 33713) showcasing the talents of local and traveling professional musicians alongside students from St. Petersburg College, the University of South Florida as well as the University of Tampa. New Music On A Sunday Afternoon concerts will occur on October 16, October 26, November 30, and December 14. Added to the roster of performances this year are solo piano concerts held at The Music Gallery of Clearwater (5990 Ulmerton Rd, Clearwater, FL 33760) with Florida native and Juilliard student pianist Robert Fleitz who has performed extensively throughout the United States and Canada. {this is a piano concert} – Robert Fleitz will occur on January 10, 2015 at The Music Gallery of Clearwater and has a $5.00 suggested donation. In keeping with The New Music Conflagration, Inc.’s commitment to promoting contemporary concert music to the public in non-traditional spaces is the first of a lecture concert series in area breweries and craft beer bars called Craft Music. Craft Brews. which will take place at The Amsterdam (1049 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg, FL 33705) on February 28, 2015.

The New Music Conflagration, Inc. is a non-profit corporation founded in the State of Florida. The New Music Conflagration, Inc. seeks to further public awareness and perception of contemporary concert music through a variety of activities including: Music Education Workshops, a Chamber Music Series, Outreach Concerts, Online Publications as well as Physical and Digital Compilation Albums. Through our promotion of new music we also seek to further develop our community culturally by making Instrumental Petting Zoos, Scholarships, and other interactive activities available to the public.
